9. GREY BOX
'y' changes to an 'i' when it sees 'ants' (The 'y' rule for
spelling). The letter 'v' has its own spelling rule (V rule).
'o' can sometimes sound like 'u' eg other' - spelling activities
for 'o' as' u. 'v-f-th are confusing to spell because thay
all make similar sounds. Games and activities to help read
'Silent letters' eg 'knock'. Making words into plurals eg
wolf - wolves. Spell words that end in '-le' eg 'table'.

10. SUNSHINE BOX
Words that sound the same but are spelt differently are called
homophones - help dyslexics spell these difficult words. The
/er/ sound is very popular, er,ur,ir,our,ear - all these different
letter patterns make the same sound. An 'r' and a magic 'e'
together make a vowel say a new sound (Vowel 'r' e' for reading
and spelling). Read and spell harder soft 'c' and 'g' words

11. RED BOX
'-tion', '-ssion', '-cian' all make the same 'shun' sound
that we call Sticky 'i' - learn to read and spell them and
other Sticky 'i' endings. au-aw say /or/ so we need a spelling
rule (read & spell). Make the final 3 packs of colourful 'Tails'
cards to learn to read and spell the most advanced word endings.
Many different letter patterns can make the same sound, here
we revise spelling rules for the vowel sounds ('long vowel
choices' -A, O, I, U). Learn to read and spell the hardest
silent letters eg 'subtle'.

12. WHITE BOX
Learn to read and spell 'ch' where it makes a /k/ sound eg
'Chris' and /sh/ sound eg 'machine'. Long vowel E helps revise
when to spell all the different patterns that make an /E/
sound. In Box 10 we learnt about homophones, now read and
spell the hardest homphones with stage 2. Read the 'ph' and
'-que' patterns eg 'photograph', 'conquer'. The ie/ei rule
will help you spell these confusing patterns eg 'view' 'vein'and
learn all the exceptions. Sticky 'i' 2 builds upon stage 1

13. MAROON BOX
'-ce' & '-se' make the same sound at the end of a word eg
'rice' 'rinse'. A spelling rule and activities to help -ce/-se
discrimination. The -ly word ending changes words it is added
to, learn to spell them with the -ly Rule. 'Y' can make the
same sounds as a vowel when it is in the body of a word. Learn
to read and spell these difficult words eg 'cyber'. Many different
letter patterns make the same /J/ sound eg 'cage', 'injure'(
spelling for /J/ choices) Many different letter patterns make
the same /K/ sound eg 'cake', 'Chris', 'mosquito' (spelling
for /K/ choices). 'Changed Heads' are where the head of a
word changes to become more like the body eg 'af-fair'- for
reading and spelling. Learn when to spell either '-al', '-el',
'-le' eg 'final', 'tunnel', 'table'. The word endings -ar
